Sierra Leone’s Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Memunatu Pratt has officially opened the Sierra Leone Honorary Consulate in Jamaica.
During the opening of the consulate in Kingston, Dr. Pratt praised President Bio for the move and spoke about the huge tourism and cultural potentials that the country has. She continued by appreciating the President for putting the nation in the spotlight.
The Minister said that the new consulate will also open Sierra Leone to the Caribbean and further ease the stress of Sierra Leoneans and other nationals in travelling to the region.
The new consulate will be headed by Professor Rosalea Hamilton. Her presence in the island nation will also be to strengthen bi-lateral ties between Sierra Leone and Jamaica and further assist Caribbeans in visiting Sierra Leone.
Several Government officials were present in the opening of the new consulate including the Sierra Leone Ambassador to the United States, Sidiqui Wai and the General Manager of the Tourist Board, Mohamed Jalloh.
