A Sierra Leonean National has reportedly died in Banjul, Gambia after alleged tortured by the Police Anti-Crime unit of the Gambia Police Force.

Sierraloaded learn that Osman Darboe, a Sierra Leonean business man resident in the Gambia died at Afrimed Hospital few days after release from custody at the Police Anti Crime Headquarters in Bijilo -Kanifing Division.

A scenario which sparked off angry mob in protests in the streets of Serekunda and set the home of the Commissioner – police Anti crime on fire.

Osman Darboe is a popular business man at the Serekunda Market of a decent character. A man described by all nationals I met as a philanthropist whose doors are always open to Sierra Leoneans entering the country to start up life.

It could be recalled that The Republic of Gambia and Sierra Leone have a long standing relationship over half a century ago. A remarkable relationship demonstrated out of love and bond of friendship throughout our reckless civil war the GOVERNMENT and people of the GAMBIA continued paid host to more than ten thousand refugees resident in the country.

However, this is going to be the first test case of our new Ambassador accredited and the SLPP government of President Julius Maada bio, as Sierra Leoneans anxiously awaits for report from the government of the GAMBIA after investigation that led to the death of a Sierra Leonean citizen in our sister Republic of the Gambia.
