WASSCE is the final exam that will qualify secondary or high school pupils to enter university or other tertiary institutions.

Over the years, Sierra Leone has been recording significant number of passes resulting in record-breaking entry into tertiary institutions.

Last year, the University of Sierra Leone instituted an entrance exam for new applicants due to mounting suspicion of malpractice in the exam.

The private WASSCE is mostly for pupils who couldn’t make it on first attempt and older people with certificates other than WASSCE.

The exam is also attempted by first-timers as preparation for the public WASSCE.
