Adfega Breaks Silence on Drizilik “Audacity” Album
Aminata Koroma Renowned Sierra Leonean music artist Adfega has broken his silence on Drizilik’s Audacity album, sharing his views on the project and its impact within the country’s music scene.
Speaking during a recent media engagement, Adfega described the current period as a “new generation of music” and discussed the different generations of artists in Sierra Leone.
He said artists who have blown up since 2023 belong to a different generation from that of Kao Denero, noting that Kao Denero has been in the industry for about 20 to 25 years, while Drizilik has spent approximately 15 years in the music industry.
Adfega stated that Kao Denero’s time has passed and also spoke about how Drizilik came into the music scene, saying Drizilik did not give him the “baton.” Instead, he said, “e jog am from me,” meaning that Drizilik took it away from him.
He further questioned whether Drizilik’s music is still making a significant impact, saying he is not sure the music is still “on the hit” and suggesting that people may not be understanding the situation.
Addressing the Audacity album, Adfega said the project has to be everywhere, alleging that money is being spent on its promotion.
However, he stressed that the album being everywhere does not necessarily mean it is making an impact.
Adfega said he has not seen the impact he expected from the album and ended by questioning, “What’s the hit?”
