The Office of the President has announced the appointment of entertainment figure Abubakarr S. Turay, popularly known as Shaddy Baby, as Sierra Leone’s new Peace Ambassador.
According to an official press release, the appointment was made by President Julius Maada Bio, replacing popular hip-hop artist Alhaji Amadu Bah (Boss La), who previously held the role.
The statement did not provide detailed reasons for the change but confirmed that Shaddy Baby will now assume responsibilities related to promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion across the country.
The Peace Ambassador role is traditionally associated with using influence in the entertainment and public space to support national peacebuilding efforts and youth engagement.
