Legendary Sierra Leonean Rapper and CEO or Black Leo Entertainment, Amadi Dennis Turay a.k.a Kao Denero has officially received three awards from the National Entertainment Awards (NEA), Sierra Leone.

Kao Denero received three NEA awards as ‘Best Male Artiste Of The Year’, ‘Best Male Hip hop Artiste’ and ‘Best Hit Single – Kenyatta’.

Speaking at the presentation in Freetown, Alhaji Tarawally, the Chief Executive Officer of the NEA said “We are proud of Kao Denero and we will like to say a massive congratulations on your wins. You continue to make Sierra Leone proud and here at NEA we will like to say thank you. Continue soaring Legend.”

Kao Denero who recently celebrated his 20 years in the music industry with a ‘Night of Excellence’ concert held at Bintumani Auditorium in Aberdeen Freetown also appreciated the organizers of the award for the recognition.

Kao Denero has proven to be one of the most consistent and content-driven rapper in the sub region for the longest. He has guided his music career to success, despite coming from a small nation. His sounds can be best described as a true hiphop vibe laced with African instrumentation which makes for a perfect blend known as afro fusion.

His lyrical content fused with street survival tales of the every day experience of the African youth which brought him a cult-like following and a timeless Black Leo movement. With collaborations with grammy winning acts like Shaba Ranks, Ghana’s Sarkodie, Nigeria’s Runtown, as well as, Jamaica’s dancehall guru Busy Signal; placed Kao in a class all by himself.
