Ghanaian fitness trainer and entrepreneur Freeman Amegashie, popularly known as Freeman Sorsis, has commended Sierra Leone for what he described as a rapidly growing culture of fitness and healthy living during his ongoing visit to the country.
Freeman, the founder of LOYCE Fitness, is in Sierra Leone as part of a Pan-African fitness and tourism journey aimed at exploring fitness communities, cultural experiences and tourist destinations across Africa.
Speaking during his visit, he said Sierra Leone is showing encouraging signs of increased public interest in physical activity and wellness. According to him, fitness in the country appears to be more than a passing trend, as people of different age groups are increasingly engaging in activities such as walking, climbing and other forms of exercise.
He noted that Freetown’s hilly landscape naturally promotes an active lifestyle and provides residents with opportunities for regular physical movement.
As part of his engagements, Freeman met with the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Hon. Nabeela Farida Tunis, whom he described as one of the fittest and healthiest public officials he has encountered during his travels.
The Ghanaian trainer, who specialises in military-style fitness training, wellness coaching and fitness tourism, has also been using his visit to highlight Sierra Leone’s people, culture and scenic landscapes.
He said his Pan-African initiative seeks to promote stronger connections among African communities through fitness, tourism and shared cultural experiences, while encouraging healthier lifestyles across the continent.
