The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Complaint Review Committee met with the National Land Commission (NLC) to review land-related complaints referred to the NLC and strengthen collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting, held at the ACC’s Integrity House in Freetown, highlighted the need for improved communication and timely feedback on complaints, particularly as land administration remains a major concern for citizens.
Deputy Commissioner for ACC, Augustine Foday Ngobie, stressed that although land administration falls outside the ACC’s direct mandate, effective follow-up on complaints referred to relevant institutions is essential to ensuring accountability and serving complainants.
NLC Commissioner General, Sappay Foray-Musa, acknowledged the concerns and reaffirmed the NLC’s commitment to working with the ACC, particularly on matters involving suspected corruption in land administration.
Both institutions agreed on key measures, including developing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a joint task force, and creating a dedicated email channel to facilitate the formal referral and prompt response to complaints.
