ACC Prosecutors Undergo Intensive Training on New Criminal Procedure Act 2024
The Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC) Prosecutions Department, primarily composed of legal officials, is currently concluding a two-day intensive training on the New Criminal Procedure Act (CPA) 2024 and its intersection with Sierra Leone’s anti-corruption laws.
The seminar, held at the Fabulous Resort in York, brought together seasoned legal experts to equip ACC prosecutors with the latest procedural knowledge and best practices.
The event opened with a session on “Corruption as a Wicked Problem” delivered by a senior ACC official. Expert facilitators included Rt. Chief Justice Nicholas Browne-Marke, known as the “Father of the New CPA,” retired Director of Public Prosecutions OV Robin-Mason, and Supreme Court Justice Alusine Sesay.
Participants described the training as timely and impactful, noting the unique opportunity to engage directly with the leading architects of Sierra Leone’s evolving criminal justice framework.
