Ministry of Agriculture Donates Vaccines to Strengthen Livestock Health in Pujehun
Alhaji Mashalat Sheriff The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) has donated vaccines and drugs to boost livestock health and prevent disease outbreaks in Pujehun District.

The drugs were presented at the MAFS office in Pujehun, where staff from the Directorate of Livestock and Veterinary Services, led by Joseph Samai, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the veterinary division. “This initiative is aimed at ensuring that ruminants and domestic animals are vaccinated and protected against any diseases,” Samai stated.
District Livestock Officer Mariama Fofana expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that the Pujehun District Council had recently provided assistance to combat animal sickness. She described the Ministry’s contribution as a “blessing in disguise” and assured that the resources would be fully utilized for their intended purpose.
Lucy Koker, District Agriculture Officer, also welcomed the donation, calling it a “step in the right direction.” She pledged that her veterinary officers would cover the entire district to ensure animals receive the necessary vaccinations and urged community stakeholders to collaborate with her team to facilitate the vaccination process in their respective areas.
