Some members of the Mass Communication Alumni FBC have met to discuss plans of a proposed Dinner and Get-together that is to be staged on the last Saturday of November, 2022.

The meeting which which took place on Saturday 11th June,  attracted representatives from various graduating classes of Mass Communication FBC was held at the prestigious Mass Communication Garden at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.

Welcoming attendees and stating the thrust of the meeting, the interim Coordinator, Sheku Putka Kamara disclosed that the Alumni has always acted as a body that facilitates reunions for past Mass Communication Students of FBC. He informed that over the years, the Alumni has been supporting sick and sometimes bereaved members. He said that such was one way that the association has done to uphold the principles of unity and oneness. He said that having an alumni dinner and Get-together would be a step in the right direction and that it would aid to reconnect most if not all Mass Communication graduates from Fourah Bay College.

The meeting was also streamed online and the session was facilitated by Theriyeh Koroma-Neneh, who has been very instrumental in reviving the spirit of the Mass Communication Alumni. Several members agreed that it would make sense to stage the dinner and it was unanimously agreed that the dress code of the dinner should be black and white / suits. A committee which constitutes;

was formed and it was agreed that the venue of the dinner be deliberated further on the Dinner Committee forum. Prices / Tickets of the dinner are as follows:

Silver Single – Le 300,000
Silver Double – Le 500,000

Gold Single – Le 500,000
Gold Double – Le 700,000

Platinum Single – Le 700,000
Platinum Double – Le 1,000,000

Members of the Mass Communication Alumni further deliberated on how it will make sense to honour and award past Mass Communication Students that were exceptional and dedicated during their Students’ Days. Mass Communication Lecturers at FBC it was said, also deserve recognizability and awards of appreciation.

The Mass Communication Alumni Dinner Committee will go into action as soon as possible and the general body will be informed accordingly as and when appropriate.
