Former Attorney-General, Minister of Justice and Member of the All People’s Congress (APC), Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK) has congratulated the Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Dr David Sengeh on his best minister award.

Dr Sengeh was recently awarded the World Government Summit as the best minister in 2022.

Reacting on Twitter this morning, the former Justice Minister said, “We must learn to give credit where it is due. However, beyond the individual, it is difficult to recognize the impact nationwide on the quality of education. Dave.”

Dr Sengeh also appreciated the award and dedicate it to his perseverance and President Bio who he called ‘his mentor’.

The minister said his tenure has changed the syllabi of all secondary schools and employed and trained more teachers. He added that they have deployed over 10 million books, teaching and other learning materials.

Education in Sierra Leone in the past decades has been in the doldrums albeit the nation is the cradle of modern education south of the Sahara.

The Bio Administration made education a priority in the ‘New Direction’ manifesto and thereby boosting the sector.
