Kono District Council of Paramount Chiefs has condemned the burning of Diana Konomanyi’s resident at Sandamanday Section, in Kono on Wednesday 31st May 2023 and called on the authority to quickly investigate and bring the perpetrators to book.

The council made this statement in a press release dated Monday 5th June 2023.

“It is with deep concern that we bring out this press release firmly condemning the burning of the residence of one of our successful daughters of the land in the person of Finda Diana Konomanyi on the 31″ May, 2023 at Sandamanday Section, Koidu City, Kono District”.

The release also stated that such action reminded them of the eleven years rebel war which brought the entire Kono District to ruin.

They called on the government to do all in its power to investigate the act and let the perpetrators face the full force of the law.

They called on the people of Kono to stay calm and be law abiding and also to not hesitate to give substantive information to the authority investigating the matter.

The release ends by sympathising with Madam Diana Konomanyi and prayed for God’s intervention to help her rebuild her home and asked that the perpetrators are exposed and brought for justice

“Meanwhile, on behalf of the entire Kono people in and out of the district and Sierra Leone, we sympathize with you our daughter and we pray that God Almighty who made provision for you to construct that building will make same provision for you to re-construct it. At the same time, we pray that He will expose all the perpetrators and bring them to justice”.
