Magistrate Sahr Kekura has sent Labourer Ibrahim Koroma on remand at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre for mobile phone theft and larceny.

Koroma made his first appearance at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 1 where is facing a charge of larceny in a dwelling house, in violation of Section 13(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.

The police said, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, Koroma entered the residence of Adama Bah in Kissy, Freetown, and stole a Tecno Spark 8 mobile phone along with cash totaling Le 95,000. Additionally, property valued at Le 2,595 belonging to Adama Bah was reported stolen.

When the charges were read and explained to Koroma in court, he did not enter a plea. Prosecutor Inspector Kadie M. Taylor requested a short adjournment to confer with witnesses regarding the case. As Koroma was not legally represented at the time, no bail application was submitted on his behalf.

Magistrate Kekura denied bail, and Koroma was remanded to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The case has been adjourned to February 11, 2025, for a second hearing.
