A forty-two-year-old Farmer, Ibrahim Koroma has been found guilty and sentenced to a 60-year term in Kenema.

Justice Francis Banks-Kamara handed down the sentence after finding the accused guilty of sexually penetrating a five-year-old child.

The accused was charged to court for sexual Penetration of a child contrary to section 12 of the Sexual offences Act 2012 Act No 12 of 2012 as repealed by Sec. 4 (a] [111] of the Sexual Offences Amendment Act 2019 Act. 08 of 2019.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused committed the act on a date unknown between May 1, 2023, and May 31 at Koya chiefdom, Kenema Judicial district.

A medical report which shows the extent of the damage was tendered in court for the 5-year-old victim.

Patrick Kamara of the Legal Aide Board represented the accused while State counsel Mathew P. Lappi prosecuted the matter.
