A woman identified as Aminata Conteh, a fish seller, has been found dead by the roadside in the Newton 4 Mile community in the early hours of the morning, in what police suspect may be a case of robbery.

According to reports, the deceased was on her way to conduct her daily business when she was allegedly attacked by suspected robbers. The assailants are believed to have stolen her personal belongings before fleeing the scene.

Residents who discovered her body alerted the authorities, prompting police to visit the scene and commence investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Her body has since been taken to the hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing and disclosed that the deceased’s husband is assisting officers with their inquiries as part of efforts to establish the full facts of the incident.

Authorities have urged members of the public with any information that could assist the investigation to come forward as efforts continue to identify and apprehend those responsible.
