A native fisherman named Mohamed Kamara has drowned in the Kolenten river Kambia District, the deceased Kamara who was a fisherman living in Pialap Village Thominia section Magbema chiefdom Kambia District.

The 45 years old man left one wife, five children and other relatives as well.

Speaking to A-Z newspaper the town chief of Pialap Village pa Adikalie said the late man Left the Town at around 8am on Monday morning for the river where he usually engaged in fishing activities hot until Tuesday night when the entire community realized that late Mohamed Kamara who have gone for fishing never returned from the river.

The town chief further explained that he decided to report to the Kambia police Division for the loss of the late man, but upon advice from the local unit commander he asked the villagers to institute a search team so that they would discover the body remains of the late Mohamed Kamara.

The search team succeeded in discovering the remains of the fisher which was taken to the Kambia Government Hospital for autopsy.

Responding on the nature of the investigation CPL 12634 Claudious Moses Gray said the Police have visited the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

According to A-Z Newspaper, the late Mohamed Kamara have been laid to rest in peace in Pialap village, Thominia section, Magbema chiefdom, Kambia District.

As we approach the raining season according to the town chief of Pialap Village this is one of the challenging times for people living around the riverine communities.
