At the Sierra Leone Innovates Summit 2025, renowned content creator and international movie star, Peter Komba, delivered a powerful message on the resilience and creativity of Sierra Leoneans in the face of adversity.
Speaking on the topic “More Than Likes – What It Takes to Succeed as a Digital Creator,” Komba emphasized the importance of joy and expression as forms of resistance in a country that has faced significant challenges.
“In Sierra Leone, where struggle speaks louder than dreams, joy becomes rebellion,” Komba stated, asserting the role of creativity and performance in healing after the devastating Ebola outbreak that claimed thousands of lives.

He remarked, “We laugh. We dance. We perform. Because sometimes that’s how we fight back, especially after our country suffered with Ebola.”
He pointed out that after enduring such hardships, embracing joy is essential for healing and moving forward.

The summit, organized by the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation and the Office of the Vice President of Sierra Leone, aimed to inspire and equip digital creators with the tools needed to thrive in a competitive landscape.
