Pujehun MP Hawa Kallon Supports Vulnerable Girls With School Supplies
Alhaji Mashalat Sheriff Honourable Hawa Akpajie Kallon, Member of Parliament representing Pujehun District, has provided essential school materials to vulnerable girls at Wanjama Government Secondary School for Girls in Wombay Community, Pujehun District, as part of her efforts to support girls’ education.
The donation included school bags, uniforms, school shoes, socks, vests, exercise books and other learning materials aimed at helping pupils who face difficulties accessing basic educational supplies.
Presenting the items on behalf of the MP, Honourable Ibrahim Borsouwa described the intervention as a modest but meaningful gesture, noting that Kallon has a strong commitment to promoting girls’ education in Pujehun and intends to support more educational and community initiatives as resources become available.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously, make good use of the materials and remain focused on achieving their aspirations.
Receiving the donation, Acting Principal Juliana Faiya Kargbo thanked Kallon for supporting vulnerable pupils, saying the materials would help address some of the challenges students face in accessing basic school requirements. She also encouraged the beneficiaries to demonstrate their appreciation through hard work and commitment to their studies.
The school’s Board Chairperson, Madam Judith Umu Lahai, also expressed gratitude to Kallon for supporting the educational needs of vulnerable girls and commended her for investing in the development of young people.
Beneficiaries Tiangay Sesay and Titty Koroma thanked the MP for the support, saying the materials would assist them in their studies and encourage them to remain focused on their education. They also appealed for continued support for vulnerable pupils and young people across Pujehun District.
The intervention forms part of community-focused efforts to support education and empower young people in the district, particularly by helping vulnerable pupils overcome some of the practical challenges associated with accessing basic school supplies.
