Court of Appeal Judge presiding over cases at the Sexual Offences Model Court, Hon. Justice Komba Kamanda has sentenced 20-year-old security guard, Paul Sulaiman Lolleh to 20 years’ imprisonment for sexually penetrating a Class five pupil.

The victim told the Court that her pant was forcefully removed by the accused who later deflowered her.

In her own words, “I was ‘virginated’, I saw the blood.”

Accused Lolleh was before the Court to answer to one Count of Sexual Penetration contrary to section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act No. 12 of 2012, as repealed and replaced by Section 4(a) (ii) of the Sexual Offences Amendment Act of 2019 No. 8 of 2019.

The 5-year-old victim told the Court that on Friday, 9th July, 2021 her Aunty gave her black plastic to sell at the Calabatown Market when she came in contact with her friend who was also selling peppers.

She said she slept around Waterloo, east end of Freetown because she was scared to go home after being slapped by her Aunty for exchanging her plastic with her friend’s peppers in order to sell at the Calabatown Market.

“Accused met me inside a makeshift structure where I was resting to pass the night,” she said and continued, “he asked me to follow him to buy me food since I was hungry throughout.”

According to victim, she went with the accused Lolleh to eat even though the place was late, “I was still afraid to go home.”

The medical report revealed that there was copious, offensive, yellowish vagina discharge seen with complete ruptured hymen.

Delivering his Judgement, Hon. Justice Komba Kamanda said, “instead of acting like a good Samaritan, the accused acted as a vicious man.”

Justice Kamanda concluded that, “the accused is guilty of the offence of sexual penetration as charged and I so order.”

The Hon. Judge sentenced the accused Lolleh to twenty years’ imprisonment.
