The Sierra Leone Police in Magburaka Division on Friday, 8 May 2026, intensified patrols and increased police visibility across Magburaka township and surrounding communities as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and maintain public order.

The exercise was led by the Local Unit Commander of the Magburaka Police Division, Superintendent Saidu Kargbo, together with members of his team.

During the patrol, traders were cautioned against street trading, which police said obstructs the free flow of traffic and creates security and safety concerns within the municipality.

Officers also engaged drivers and commercial motorbike riders on road safety measures and traffic regulations aimed at promoting public safety and ensuring order on the highways.

The operation forms part of the Sierra Leone Police’s broader commitment to community policing, crime prevention, and maintaining peace across communities nationwide.

Residents welcomed the increased police presence, which authorities say will continue as part of regular security measures to deter crime and improve public confidence.
