The first pre-primary school in the Tonkolili District township of Makali, Northern Sierra Leone, ended the school’s first graduation ceremony on December 13th, 2022.

The Roman Catholic (RC) Pre-primary school ended their graduation for fifteen kindergartens with a match pass through the Makali township together with parents, guardians, and teachers, followed by a quiz and debate competition.

This ceremony as well as the school, according to Regina Mabinty Kanu, the headteacher, is the first to ever happened in the community.

Kanu said, out of the fifteen that graduated, five are male, while ten are female. During the ceremony, the entire community joined the school and the parents in making the day memorable. Scores of parents and community people were seen dancing given public. Five years old John Dennis Kamara, one of the graduates, during the welcoming address, said, they’re thanking the school administrator for marvelous work. As they’re moving another step forward in their academic pursuit, Denis said, they’re going to impress the school and their parents.

Kanu, the headteacher, who was widely commended for successfully running the school said, her success was a result of hard work. She said, she has a very formidable team of colleague teachers whose passion for education contributed to the success of the school and the graduation ceremony.

Parents and community leaders present were happy as seen on their faces and the statements they delivered, and they lavished praises on the head teacher and her team for marvelous work. The entire ceremony ended in a quiz and debate competition, and speeches from several stakeholders and community leaders climaxed everything.
