The National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) Steering Committee has endorsed five strategic actions aimed at strengthening institutional compliance and accelerating the implementation of the NACS 2024–2028.
The actions focus on mandatory leadership tracking, targeted support for local councils, protection of internal audit independence and funding, end-to-end procurement verification, and the establishment of a formal non-compliance escalation protocol.
The decisions were reached following the presentation of the First Quarter NACS Monitoring Report, which assessed 95 public institutions and identified key systemic risks and gaps affecting the implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy.
The Steering Committee said the measures are intended to address weaknesses identified through the monitoring process and improve compliance with anti-corruption requirements across public institutions.
It reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant institutions to implement the agreed actions, strengthen accountability and improve institutional performance across Sierra Leone’s public sector.
