Plan International Sierra Leone, in partnership with relevant line ministries, distributed dignity kits to 300 adolescent girls in Moyamba District as part of activities marking Menstrual Hygiene Day.
The distribution targeted girls in the Dasse and Fakunya Chiefdoms of Moyamba District in the Southern Region.
The initiative focused on adolescent girls, including sponsored children, providing them with essential menstrual hygiene products aimed at supporting their health, improving school attendance, and enhancing their overall well-being.
Community leaders and beneficiaries emphasized the significance of the intervention in breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation, raising awareness about menstrual health management, and empowering girls to confidently pursue their education and participate fully in daily activities.
Through the initiative, Plan International Sierra Leone reaffirmed its commitment to promoting girls’ rights, health, and education, while contributing to the development of resilient communities where girls can lead, learn, and thrive.
