Fuad Foday Sesay of No.7 Olu Williams Street, Koayama Section Kenema City was on Wednesday 10th May 2023 arrested at the Wanjama checkpoint for unlawful possession of NLe49,000.00 suspected to be fake currencies.

The Officer-in-Command of Wanjama Checkpoint, 12538 Sgt. Mohamed Massaqouoi explained that Sesay was whisked out of a bus that was traveling from Freetown to Kenema, based on the application of their normal professional routine stop and check method.

He stated that Fuad was singlehandedly picked out, amongst a lot of passengers onboard the bus due to constant training on developing their “intuitive empaths” has been organized by the Sierra Leone Police through the directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) William Fayia Sellu.

He noted that these trainings have greatly helped him and his men, with the ability to know and understand things just at a passing glance.

Meanwhile, the matter has been directed to the Regional Crime Investigation Department for further investigation.

However, the suspect Faud has denied knowing that the money in his possession was fake but admitted that he owned the suspected fake notes, which he collected from someone (name withheld) in Bo, to be delivered to a palm oil seller (name withheld) in Kenema.

Questions as to where it was printed and who was behind this strategy, are yet unclear.

Nevertheless, the Regional Crime Officer-East, Mr.Francis Lawrence Dauda had allocated the matter to the Head of the Trans Organized Crime Unit (TOCU), D/Sergeant 9441 Ahmid Kamara, whose unit is currently working on the matter.
