Police and Military Intensify Joint Anti-Drug Operations in Kabala
In a renewed effort to combat the growing menace of narcotic drugs, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) on Monday conducted a series of coordinated raids across Kabala township.
The joint operation was spearheaded by the Operations Team of the Kabala Police Division, led by Inspector Aruna Morrison Gbondo, and supported by the Officer Commanding OSD.
Military personnel from the 12th Infantry Battalion of the RSLAF also took part in the operation, which targeted identified ghettos and suspected hideouts used for drug-related activities.
Several makeshift ghettos were dismantled during the raids. Although no arrests were made, as suspects reportedly fled prior to the arrival of the team, citizens described the operation as a major step in dismantling drug networks in the area.
The Local Unit Commander of Kabala Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ibrahim Barrie, and the Commanding Officer of the 12th Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Saidu Kuyateh, reaffirmed their joint commitment to sustaining the fight against harmful drugs.
They assured residents that security operations will continue until drug-related activities are significantly curtailed, emphasizing that the safety and well-being of the Kabala community remain a top priority.
