The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has paid compensation to 116 Property Affected Persons (PAPs) within Lot One of the Kailahun-Koindu- Guinea-Liberia Border Road corridor.

The payment of NLe 5,100,533.00 (Five Million, One Hundred Thousand, Five Hundred and Thirty Three New Leones) was done as part of the counterpart funding by the Government of Sierra Leone for the construction of the 25km road that stretches from Kailahun to Buedu.

The said project that effect the payment of these Property Affected Persons is part of the Mano River Union Road Development and Transport Facilitation Programme that is financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the works contract will be officially awarded to ensure its effective roll-out as soon as possible according to the engagement.

To ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the payment structure, it was done in three locations — Kailahun Court Barry, Gbalahun Community Centre and Buedu Court Barry in the presence of representatives from the Anti-Corruption Commission, Audit Service Sierra Leone and Civil Society.
