Sheriff was recently promoted to the position of Major after serving as Captain for a period of time.
The news of her death came as a surprise to many on social media. Many have described Sheriff as a hardworking and dedicated patriot who made significant contributions to the country.
Major Sheriff recently celebrated her wedding anniversary on her Facebook page with a tagline, “1 down, cheers to forever.”
Some of her friends have described her as a feminist and gender activist who loves to provide support for other women.
