Ecobank Sierra Leone has issued a statement confirming that the rumors of a fire at its Siaka Stevens Street branch are completely false.
The bank assured its customers and the public that there was no fire or any incident of that nature at the location.
The notice, released today, Thursday 1st May 2025 stated that the Siaka Stevens Street branch is safe, secure, and fully operational. Ecobank urged the public to disregard the misinformation and to rely on its official communication channels for accurate updates.
“We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety across all our locations,” the statement read.
The bank also wished customers a happy Workers’ Day.
The rumors, which included a video of a fire at the branch, quickly spread on social media. Some reports even claimed that multiple buildings were involved. However, Ecobank clarified that no such incident occurred.
As of now, the Siaka Stevens Street branch continues to operate without disruption.
