Sierra Leone Offers New Citizenship Pathways for Foreign Nationals
The Government of Sierra Leone is offering new citizenship pathways for foreign nationals, according to a report published by The Wandering Investor on X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to the report, the new pathways are aimed at foreign entrepreneurs and investors interested in establishing or expanding their business interests in Sierra Leone.
The reported Solo Entrepreneur option starts at USD 95,000, with an additional USD 5,000 diligence fee. This brings the reported total investment to USD 100,000 for an individual applicant without dependents. The initiative is said to be similar to a citizenship scheme introduced by the Government of São Tomé and Príncipe several years ago.
The Wandering Investor also highlighted a second option, described as the Enterprise Citizenship package, which is designed for two unrelated individuals without dependents who wish to apply together.
Under the reported package, each applicant would invest USD 82,500 to obtain Sierra Leonean citizenship. The arrangement provides a lower individual investment compared with the reported Solo Entrepreneur option.
The new pathways are expected to attract foreign investors and entrepreneurs who are interested in Sierra Leone’s growing economy and opportunities across sectors.
Sierra Leonean citizenship also offers a number of practical benefits. Citizens have the right to live, work and establish businesses in Sierra Leone without immigration restrictions applicable to foreign nationals. Citizenship also provides access to a Sierra Leonean passport and the ability to participate fully in the country’s civic and economic life, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
For foreign entrepreneurs, Sierra Leonean citizenship can therefore provide a long-term connection to the country while allowing them to pursue business, investment and other economic opportunities in Sierra Leone.
