A 23 years old Sierra Leonean man identified as Yembeh Sesay, has develop a large tumor in his eye which is growing bigger and bigger to the point that it has started leaking fluid, for this reason, doctors have advised that he seek urgent medical attention in Ghana.

A tumor is a collection of cells that grows abnormally, and it can be malignant (cancerous) or benign (noncancerous).Eye tumors, also known as ocular tumors, are tumors associated with the eye. It occurs when the pigment-producing cells in the eyes divide and multiply too rapidly. This produces a lump of tissue known as a tumour.

According to a friend of Yembeh, Samuel S.K Koroma, when Yembeh started feeling sick in october he thought it was a mere cold and was treated as such but after he received a picture of his condition, he advised him to see a doctor, so when he went for a medical checkup, the doctor told him that it is not a cold but a tumor that must be removed urgently. Because such operations are not done in Sierra Leone, the doctor advised that he must be flown to Ghana to undergo a tumor removal Surgery.

“But Yembeh Sesay who is only a photographer and his family, can not afford the payments for such surgery” his friend added.

Samuel furthered that his friend is going through severe pain and has been suffering for six months now.

They are therefore calling on the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Health, Humanitarian Organizations and Philanthropists to please come to the aid of this young man so that he can undergo a tumor removal surgery in Ghana.
