Sierra Leoneans Spotted Scooping Palm Oil From Overturned Oil Tanker
Binta Koroma A bunch of local women, young girls and men along the Bo Koribondo highway have been captured on camera in chaotic state scooping palm oil following a Socfin Agricultural Company tanker’s oil spillage in BO.
The Tanker is said to have collided with a Stationary Vehicle after which it somersaulted and landed into a ditch resulting to the spill.
Residents are seen rushing to collect with bowl the palm oil that is gushing out of the tanker and gradually going waste.
Some of them using cups to fill gallons and buckets and others are seen collecting the palm oil with their bare hands.
Police officers are seen around inspecting the incident but even their presence could not stop the people from scooping the oil.
It seems the officers are letting them collect the palm oil before it goes waste.
