The Sierra Leone Students’ Loan Scheme (SLOAN) has announced that it has received funds from the Sierra Leone Government to roll out its loan scheme programme.

“We are pleased to invite applications for financial assistance from less privileged Sierra Leoneans pursuing courses in institutions accredited by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC),” SLOAN said in a public notice earlier on Tuesday.

The student loan institution said applicants would have to pay NLe 250 at any Sierra Leone Commercial Bank to access the pins of the online application before the 15th March this year.

The institution said that this development is only limited to graduate students. That is, students that want to pursue masters or Doctoral (PhD) programmes.

SLOAN encouraged interested applicants to visit their website and the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) at New England Ville in order to get more application guidelines.

The scheme was launched in order to provide loans to underprivileged students in Sierra Leone. The intention by the government was to ensure that students without tuition and other fees dropout from college.
