A joint security team has arrested a man after discovering 16 packets of suspected kush during a routine checkpoint operation at Mile 38.
The operation took place on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, involving personnel from the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).
Officers intercepted a vehicle and conducted a thorough search. The suspect, identified as Michael Jajua of 7 Turay Drive, Juba Hill, Freetown, was stopped as part of ongoing efforts to combat the trafficking of illicit substances.
According to security personnel, the search led to the recovery of 16 plastic packets containing a substance suspected to be kush, concealed in the boot of the vehicle.
Jajua was taken into police custody, and the recovered exhibits have been retained as evidence pending further investigation.
