In the 13th June 2022, at about 0230hours, Police Constable 20006, Mansaray Sallieu, was on patrol at Church of God, back of Mems Enterprise, a popular entertainment center in Makeni, when he heard an unusual sound.

This led him to curiosity, as he pointed his torchlight and saw three hardcore criminals, who had already broken into the Church Hall, on the verge to cart away with valuable properties.

The Constable, faced with calamity of losing his life, chased the three thieves and successfully arrested one. The arrest resulted into a fierce encounter with the armed robber, trying to subdue him, when Police Constable, 19251 Anthony Raka Koroma, materialized at the scene and assisted his colleague in arresting the suspect, alongside a motorbike that was intended to convey the stolen loot, with registration number, ASA 844.

The suspect whose name is alleged to be Ibrahim Mansaray, resides at 07 Rogbaneh Road, Makeni, in a family house. Both Constables are attached to the Community Service Center at Mena Police Station, under the astute leadership of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jatu Moore, as Officer Commanding.

It was recently the Regional Commander North East Region, AIG G. M. T. Tommy, Held a consultative security engagement with Local Unit Commanders (LUCS), Crime Officers, Operations Officers, Support Officers and Unit Heads.

The theme of the engagement, was to look into increasing armed robbery activities and how to tackle such, using available resources and professional skills. One key issue discussed, was to mount mobile checkpoints in Gray Areas, Beat Patrols, Formation of Community Safety Volunteers among others.
