A heavy-duty truck crashed into a house in Serabu Village, Kenema District in the afternoon hours of today, July 5th, 2025, after the driver lost control while trying to avoid ducks crossing the road.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early afternoon, leaving local residents startled but relieved that no serious injuries were reported.
The truck, identified by its registration number AWL 562, swerved off the road and collided with a nearby residence. Eyewitnesses described hearing a loud noise before rushing outside to find the truck embedded in the structure.
“I just heard a loud noise and ran outside. The vehicle had already crashed into the house,” said one resident, who witnessed the aftermath of the accident, further stating, “We’re thankful no one was hurt, especially the children who usually play around that area.”
Emergency services and local authorities quickly arrived on the scene to assess the situation. Fortunately, despite the significant damage to the property, there were no fatalities or serious injuries reported.
The accident has raised concerns among community members about road safety, particularly regarding the presence of animals on busy roads.
