Two Accused of Throwing Acid on Woman’s Eyes in Kenema
Two accused persons John Saffa age 27 of Bendu Mameima village in the Malegohun Chiefdom Kenema judicial district, Eastern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and Mohamed Fofanah alias Momoh Vanjay age 49 of Daru Town, Jaluahun Chiefdom Kailahun District, Eastern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone appeared before magistrate Abdul Carew on two count charges.
On count one, they were charged with conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law.
Particulars of offense state that John Saffa and Momoh Vanjay on Friday 22nd July 2022 at Bendu Marina Village, Malegohun Chiefdom, Kenema District, conspired together with others to commit a felony to wit wording with intent.
Count two is winding with the intent country to section 18 of the offenses against the person Act No. 1861.
Particulars state that John Saffa on Friday 22nd July 2022 at Bendu Mameima Village wounded Mamie Sumaila.
ASP Daniel Lahai Konneh from the Justice and Legal Support Department of the police division in Kenema prosecuted the matter, which was adjoined to 28th October 2022.
Mamie Sumaila is said to have lost both eyes.
