Inspector of Schools based in Karene District, in the North West Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone, has disclosed that a total of one hundred and twenty (120) pregnant girls from different schools are currently taking the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Karene District.

Mr. Ibrahim Sorie Tarawalie made this startling disclosure during a consultative meeting held with stakeholders of Karene District or Saturday 18th June 2022, led by members of the Youth Empowerment and Development Association Sierra Leone on the theme: Second Change for Pregnant Girls Back to School.

Mr. Tarawalie disclosed further that a total of six thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine (6,799) pupils are currently taking the WASSCE exams in Kanere District,

Adding that three thousand five hundred. and ninety-eight (3598) are boys and three thousand two hundred and one are girls. He said that Karene District has provided lots of opportunities for pregnant girls to go back to school. He said this year, a total of one hundred and twenty pregnant girls are currently taking the WASSCE exams.
