2 EDSA Staff Die From Electrocution in Kambia
Sorie Abubakar Two staff from the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) have died from electrocution at Malal Village in Kambia District, Northwestern Sierra Leone.
The two EDSA staff were involved in the tragic incident while performing maintenance on an electrical pole when they were electrocuted. It was later confirmed that both men had died after the pole collapsed, with the two individuals still clinging to it at the time of the accident.
This is the first fatal case of electrocution from the District since the start of the year although EDSA conducts repairs and installs new lines frequently in that region.
The exact cause of the electrocution remains unclear, as in many instances, EDSA had turned off the power before beginning work on its poles and other infrastructure.
Engineers, however, believe that electrocution, a process through which power passes through the body, occurs when someone is in contact with a live wire, a wire exposed to water and exposure to a damaged wire.
Terrifying death ! We saw a vidoe of a collaspped pole that breaks from under neath the ground which cause their falling , and becoz they were tite up with their beats no way to escaped fall from that long distance together being tited up to the same pole considered to be safety for them . Really a sad end for both . May The Lord may mercy on their departed souls. We men goes through a lots just to put food on the table
I think it’s not electrocution, The poll itself fall on the ground resulted to their demise this issue was debated during the installation of these polls that they need to concrete them with rich cement because of the nature of the polls that they are very heavy but the officials involved ignore the idea instead of just digging a bore hole to plant the polls which are very heavy

From my observation this is not electrocution. It’s as a result of trauma. The impact of the sudden fall of the pole. From the video you clearly see someone close to the victims. If it was electrocution this won’t permit anyone to go too close.

We as electrical Engineers dont called this electrocution if it was non of those people would have come close to those victims,
In a close look and clear evidence you can see the belt was tightly tighten on the other victim . This shows you that they got their death through the fallen of the electrical pole .
Moreover there is another video circulating around the media when the pole was collapsing and they were struggling to untie their blet but couldn’t make it.
So sad may the lord have mercy on them both.
