The  Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala has been named among distinguished West Africans recognised at the 2026 West Africa Heroes Awards.

The prestigious ceremony was held on Saturday, 9 May 2026, at the Freetown International Conference Centre in Aberdeen, Freetown, drawing prominent figures from across the subregion.

According to the award citation, the ACC Commissioner was honoured for his “outstanding leadership in anti-corruption reforms and strengthening accountability, transparency, and the rule of law in Sierra Leone.” The recognition highlights his continued efforts in advancing integrity and institutional accountability within the country.

Other notable recipients included the Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr Austin Demby, and the Honourable Chief Justice, Komba Kamanda, alongside diplomats, religious leaders, and entrepreneurs from across West Africa.

The ACC Commissioner’s latest honour adds to a growing list of both local and international accolades, reflecting his sustained leadership in the fight against corruption and his commitment to promoting transparency and good governance in Sierra Leone.
