ACRG Trains First Group of Youth Facilitators under YNIL Project
Alusine Ahmed Kargbo The Action for Community Resilience Group (ACRG) has completed training for the first group of Youth Facilitators under the Youth Nexus Innovation Labs (YNIL) project.
Young Sierra Leoneans are being prepared to help their communities find solutions to environmental challenges through this initiative.
The trained Youth Facilitators will work with communities and Youth Innovation Fellows to discuss local problems, collect information, and support ideas that can improve the environment.
The project focuses on protecting water sources, encouraging tree planting, supporting better farming practices, and helping communities find solutions to environmental problems that affect their daily lives.
It aims to combine community knowledge, youth ideas, and scientific approaches to create practical solutions that can improve people’s lives.
Through the programme, young people will help communities share their experiences, identify challenges, and test solutions that support environmental protection.
The initiative is co-funded by the AU–EU Youth Action Lab and supported by partners including the European Union in Sierra Leone, UNICEF Sierra Leone, UNDP Sierra Leone, Njala University, and the Environment Protection Agency Sierra Leone.
The project highlights the important role young people can play in creating positive change and building stronger, more resilient communities across Sierra Leone.
