Afrimoney, Sierra Leone’s leading digital finance platform, launched its new Agent Mobile App at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown.

The event also saw the introduction of the ‘Sell & Win’ airtime promotion for agents.

The new Afrimoney Agent Mobile App is designed to simplify mobile money transactions, making it easier for agents to interact with subscribers across Sierra Leone. The app aims to streamline operations, improve transaction speed, and ensure a secure platform for mobile money services.

During the launch event, Africell’s CEO, Shadi-Al-Gerwaji, spoke about the app’s role in enhancing Afrimoney’s offerings and improving the user experience for both agents and subscribers. Afrimoney’s CEO, Martison Obeng Agyei, talked about the app’s potential to reduce transaction times and create a more efficient environment for agents, helping them grow their businesses.

Richard Gboussoub, Afrimoney’s Products and Services Director, demonstrated how the app works and stressed the importance of security. He advised agents to protect their login credentials and One Time Passwords (OTP) to ensure the safety of transactions.

In addition to the app launch, Afrimoney introduced the ‘Sell & Win’ promo, running from 26th to 31st August 2025. The promotion encourages agents to sell a minimum of Nle 100 in airtime and gives them a chance to win weekly and monthly prizes. The event ended with a fun question-and-answer session and a Spin and Win lottery, where five lucky agents each won NLE 500, with one winner also taking home a brand-new waterproof mobile phone.
