Honorable Mohamed Bangura of constituency 066 Karena District and the Chairperson of the All People’s Congress Party Tonkolili District, Yabom Sesay on Friday 25th November 2022 made another made an appearance before magistrate Marke Ngegba of court No.1 standing tria on five counts charges of assault, disorderly behavior, insulting conduct among others and are presently, waiting for ruling on the matter by the magistrate.

Shortly after the matter was mentioned by the court Clerk, Defense Counsel I.Turay, representing Honorable Bangura, submitted their no case submission before the court, adding that they have served state council with a copy of their submissions which he confirmed.

He therefore made another application before the court for the vehicle of Honorable Bangura to be returned to him.

He made his application pursuant to section 51 of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1916.

Magistrate Marke Ngegba said he had made a ruling on that previously which was made by his senior colleague Lansana Dumbuya and the ruling still stands.

State Counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay said base upon the no case submission presented by Defense Counsel on behalf of Honorable Bangura, he will not reply but rely on the entire evidence given by the prosecution.

It could be recalled that both accused were arraigned before the court on five counts of charges ranging from assault, insulting conduct and disorderly behavior contrary to law.

According to the charge sheet, the accused on Saturday 11 June 2022 at Tonkolili District assaulted AIG Gabriel Tommy whiles executing his duty.

The charge sheet furthered that the accused on the same day and place used insulting words to the annoyance of AIG Gabriel Tommy to provoke him to commit a breach of peace.

However, Magistrate Ngegba adjourned the matter to 2 December 2022 for the ruling.
