The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, is in Melbourne to lead Sierra Leone’s delegation to the Women Deliver Conference 2026—one of the world’s leading platforms advancing gender equality and the rights and well-being of women and girls.

At the conference, Minister Bah is serving as Speaker and Co-Chair of the Global Programme to End Child Marriage, where he is contributing to global discussions on scaling and financing solutions to accelerate progress.

In his intervention, he reiterated President Julius Maada Bio’s commitment to ending child marriage within this generation, emphasising a comprehensive approach grounded in policy reform, sustained investment in education, strong enforcement, and collective action.

He is also participating in high-level engagements on ending violence against women and girls, taking part in the closing plenary, and holding bilateral and strategic meetings with international partners to advance President Bio’s agenda for women and girls.
Sierra Leone’s participation reflects the Government’s firm commitment to ending child marriage, empowering women and girls, and delivering measurable results.
