Secretary to the cabinet and Head of Civil Service, John Sumaila, has effected major transfers, promotions as well as sending some civil servants on terminal leave.

A news release dated Thursday 17th March, 2022 called for the effective postings of some senior administrative officials in the civil service with immediate effect.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Andrew Sorie, has been transferred to the Ministry of Food Security to replace Charles Kamanda, who should proceed on vacation leave.

Dr. Joe Fayia Nyuma has been transferred to the Ministry of Political and Public Affairs as Permanent Secretary to replace Mohamed Jalloh, who should proceed on terminal leave with immediate effect.

Lawrence Amara as Senior Assistant Secretary will now as Deputy Secretary to replace Sheku L. Bangura who should proceed on vacation leave, while the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, Alhasson Kandeh, has been transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Aviation to replace Brima Sowa, who has been transferred to the Ministry of Water Resources.

Fatmata Mustapha will replace Ahmed Mustapha as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, while Ahmed Mustapha has been transferred to replace Andrew Sorie in the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.

According to The Satellite Newspaper findings, the administrative shakeup which has been approved by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio is geared towards enhancing efficiency in the delivering of government programmes for improved access to service delivery.
