BREAKING: President Bio Announces Special Investigation Committee to Investigate August 10 Violence
Ibrahim Hashim Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio has announced the establishment of a Special Investigation Committee to examine investigate the underlying causes, sources of financing, execution and consequences of the August 10 insurrection.
This is according to a public notice issued today, 24 August 2022.
The release states that:
“The General Public would recall that on Friday 12th August 2022, His Excellency Brigadier General (Rtd.) Dr. Julius Maada Bio addressed the Nation and assured that an investigation would be instituted into the events of Wednesday 10th August 2022.
Accordingly, it has pleased His Excellency Brigadier General (Rtd.) Dr. Julius Maada Bio to announce the establishment of a Special Investigation Committee to examine both the immediate and underlying causes, sources of financing, execution and consequences of the insurrection, as well as the response of security forces.”
