Sierra Leone’s President, Dr Julius Maada Bio, has appointed Alpha K.M. Lavalie to serve as Special Envoy For Trade and Investment replacing Sallay Fofonah Kamara.

“It has pleased His Excellency the President Brig (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio to appoint you as Special Envoy for Trade and investment” a letter addressed to Lavalie reads.

His appointment came six months after Madam Kamara’s appointment was evoked by the President.

Kamara who was appointed by President Bio on the 30th March this year, was revoked barely five days later.

The reasons for that decision were never made known. Lavalie is to serve as the new Special Envoy for Trade and Investment.

His duties as the Special Envoy for Trade and Investment, are to promote Sierra Leone’s business, product, and trade interest abroad, identify trade and investment opportunities in the emerging and growth markets for the attention of the appropriate authorities and any other duties assigned by His Excellency the President from time to time.
