President Julius Maada Bio has appointed Ann-Marie Harding to act as the Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources.

Harding was appointed on Wednesday. She temporarily takes over the position of Timothy Kabba who was involved in a fatal car accident weeks ago.

Sierraloaded previously reported how Kabba narrowly escaped death after a road crash that resulted in life-threatening injuries including multiple broken bones on his legs and other parts of his body.

Kabba’s car was “attacked” in what may have been an assassination attempt amid pending mineral deals, according to multiple sources. He has since then been flown to Germany for further treatment and surgery on both legs.

It is particularly clear when Kabba will return to office. However, a letter by Julius F. Sandy, the Secretary to the President says Ann-Marie Harding will “act as Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources until further notice.”

Until her appointment, Harding was the Deputy Minister of Mines and mineral resources.
