President Brigadier General (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio has named Mr. Osman I. Kanu, Esq. as the new Solicitor General, pending Parliament’s approval where required.
The announcement came in a public notice from State House on 26th May 2026, signed by Secretary to the President, Barba B. Fortune.
Kanu succeeds Robert Baoma Kowa, who has held the role since January 21, 2022.
Before this appointment, Osman Ibrahim Kanu, Esq. served as Director of Public Prosecution since 31st July 2023.
The Solicitor General is a key government legal officer, tasked with providing legal advice and representing the state in civil matters.
