President Julius Maada Bio has received the President of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment Dr. George Agyekum Donkor.

“On his engagement with Mr. Donkor, President Bio tweeted, President and his team are in Sierra Leone to advance discussions on the Bank’s support for my Government’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) 2024-2030. I look forward to concretising the discussions and quickly moving to the implementation stages for the benefit of the great people of Sierra Leone”

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) is a regional international financial institution belonging to the fifteen (15) ECOWAS Member States namely, Benin, Burkina Faso, Carbo Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

On Tuesday 30 January 2024,  President Bio has officially launched the country’s Medium-Term National Development Plan, MTNDP, 2024-2030, titled: “A Transformative Acceleration Agenda for Food Security, Human Capital Development, and Job Creation.”

He referred to the document as a well-thought-out national development plan that would serve as the backbone of society, ensuring that the aspirations of Sierra Leoneans were not only being heard but were also being meticulously addressed.

Dr. Donkor had previously held the position of Vice-President, Finance and Corporate Services, for seven (7) years and prior to that, Head of Legal Division/Compliance for four (4) years of the same institution. Before joining EBID, Dr. Donkor served in management capacities in many corporate positions including Head of Legal/Compliance for the ARB Apex Bank Limited, Ghana.
